To make that much HP, the RPM range will be 8000+ without a doubt and the rod bolts will become critical. If you compare the cross-sectional area of both bolts to the weakest cross-sectional area of the rod and then figure the tensile strength of both, you would see the importance of quality bolt material.
If someone's rods are bending or breaking at lower power levels, I'd look into better rods (e.g. no off-shore junk) and verify the rest of engine build was targeted around the RPM and power levels expected.
